With a rough start, Palm Harbor baseball season has started. Currently they are 4-4 but still have 16 games to go.

The team has been training hard for many months, conditioning and working on the mechanics. The baseball team coach, Tom Hilbert, says “32 guys come out everyday and although we are struggling, we are improving as a team, and as individuals everyday.”

The team has many options when trying to figure out what person to play in which spot. The team has 8 pitchers, 4 possible catchers, 9 infielders, and 4 people who play outfield.

The team will be playing in a few tournaments including a state one, in Fort Myers. The tournament will take place May 30th until June 2nd.

They are also scheduled to play in a few smaller tournament including a blue devil classic and a district tournament. The district tournament is May 1-3 and the blue devil classic tournament is May 26-29.

There are 7 more away games and 7 more home games.

The team has done fun things together, like like dinners. On February 10th there was a navy/maroon game dinner. Sometime this season, they will have a team bowling event. They have hosted fundraisers and done car washes. The parents and players have had a field clean up to get ready for the season as well.

The games will continue until April 26th and the last home game is April 24th.

Make sure you come out and catch a game.
