In the 2021 Super Bowl on Sunday, February 7th, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and The Kansas City Chiefs will be versing each other in Tampa Bay, Florida at the Raymond James Stadium. This is the fifth time the Super Bowl has been in Tampa and third time at Raymond James Stadium. The game will be televised and streamed on the CBS channel and apps so everybody could watch whether you are at the game or not. This is the 55th annual Super Bowl since January 15th, 1967. The price range to purchase a ticket is from hundreds to thousands of dollars. The game will start with the kickoff at 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. This is the first year where one of the teams in the Super Bowl is playing at their home stadium.  

Some people may be wondering with such a popular event what their precautions may be for COVID-19. Having a ton of people cooped up in a stadium may not be such a good idea right now, but the NFL crews have set their COVID-19 plan in place. Everyone involved is required to sign a health promise, wear masks, and to social distance. Although it is hard to be able to stay safe and continue attending the games as usual, some fans have expressed their opinions saying they feel that masks and distancing just isn’t enough. The NFL has also mentioned that they will be limiting the capacity this year to 22,000, including 7,500 vaccinated health care workers.   

One thing that people look forward to when watching the Super Bowl is the halftime show. Those who tuned in last year will remember a great performance by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. This year, Canadian singer, The Weekend will be performing at this year’s 55th halftime show. It is unclear right now if there will be anyone else joining The Weekend on the stage, but what we know right now is that he will bring a wide range of songs and hopefully a great performance as well.  

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have only gone to the Super Bowl once back on January 26, 2003 and won against the Raiders with final score of 48-21. The Kansas City Chiefs have already gone to the Super Bowl three times and won twice when they went. They lost to the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl 1 35-10. In the year 1970 in Super Bowl 4, they went up against the Minnesota Vikings and won. Many years later in 2020, The Kansas City Chiefs returned to Super Bowl 54 and beat the 49ers 31-20. This is the Bucs first year having Tom Brady, who before played on the Patriots. This is Tom Brady’s 10th time attending the Super Bowl.
