Colleen Ballinger is the creator behind one of the most well-loved yet infamous YouTubers on the internet: Miranda Sings.

The character of Miranda Sings was created by Colleen in 2008 as a parody of the many untalented yet self-centered creators on YouTube and other online spaces. Miranda is easily recognizable with her bright red, sloppily applied lipstick, red sweatpants pulled up as high as possible, and catchphrase, “Haters back off!” Miranda’s channel features her covers of mostly pop songs, rants about her haters, tutorials, and collaborations with other YouTubers, many of which are her baes. Her channel has over 7.5 million subscribers and 1.2 billions views.

In 2009, Colleen began performing as Miranda to live audiences. She has sold out venues around the world including England, Germany, Australia, and Ireland, and is currently touring America. During her live shows, Miranda shows off her “skills” as a magician, gives Broadway stars and pop singers voice lessons, responds to her haters on Twitter, and much more.

Along with her profoundly successful YouTube channel and live tour, Miranda Sings landed a TV deal for a Netflix Original called Haters Back Off, has had a book published titled Selp Helf, and has appeared on well-known talk shows like The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Colleen has had so much success with this character over the years. It’s clear that the astounding attention is well deserved, and there’s no telling what the future holds for Miranda.
