Having trouble deciding what to make your family this holiday season? No worries, I have all the tips and tricks right here for you to make good use of! You first want to start off with deciding what you’re going to have at Thanksgiving. Whether or not you will have turkey or ham or both. What types of vegetables you’ll have and what other sides you may serve. Some important things to make sure you understand is how to cook each item. Sometimes it is better to look at recipes than base off of what you remember. I have a few recipes that I think would be beneficial to your next Thanksgiving meal. You could start with an appetizer, such as bacon stuffed mushrooms, cinnamon roll sausage knots, or even a fruit canape.
A fruit canape is one of the easiest 3 ingredient thanksgiving appetizers. You will need some salty-sweet raisin-walnut bread, a slab of creamy brie and topped with a slice of pear. No cooking, just some cutting, and presentation and you have a perfect appetizer. Then you will need to make some entrees, such as turkey or ham or whatever meats your family likes. Moving on to the endless options of side dishes, here are some that would be interesting and very yummy. You could make brussels sprouts with bacon, sweet potatoes with honey and cinnamon, or some creamy mashed potatoes.
Dennis Alvonellos (26′) and his family enjoy eating turkey on Thanksgiving. “I help marinate the turkey and cook it,” Alvonellos says. He spends this holiday with his brother, mom, and dad. They prepare all their food in the morning and eat in the afternoon. Alvonellos also says his least favorite thing to eat on thanksgiving is the cranberry sauce. You don’t need a large family to make a holiday special, it is the people around you who make it special.
I hope this gave you a few good ideas for some yummy foods and you and your family have a great Thanksgiving.
