Before the Directioners go off the handle, reassurance can come from the fact that this break is only temporary. The actual amount of time One Direction will be on break, though, is undetermined.

The reasoning behind this hiatus is simple: they just want time to relax and get out of the whirlwind that is fame. The members of One Direction explained that their life has been planned day by day for the past five years, and they would appreciate some time to do whatever their hearts desire.

There’s no need to worry, though. Although the band is physically taking a break, the bonds and friendships formed between the members of One Direction won’t be. They have stated that they are planning a holiday of some sort together. Niall Horan of One Direction even joked in an interview about taking all the other band members on a golfing getaway.

Fans will be eagerly awaiting the day this iconic band returns to the spotlight, as soon as it feels “natural” for them to do so.
